Fueling Inspiration at FlintConf 2024: To Recap

Fueling Inspiration at FlintConf 2024: To Recap

We were thrilled to host this year’s FlintConf at the Patterson-Appleton Arts Center, home of the Greater Denton Arts Council. GDAC is a catalyst for creativity, advocacy, and collaboration while Stoke is a champion for creative entrepreneurs and Denton’s hub for ambition and community. Name a more iconic duo, we’ll wait.

But while we wait, here’s a recap of this year’s FlintConf - Let’s Start a Fire.

Small Business Case Studies: Good and Golden

I had a thought while typing the same email that I’d typed out to five other people for my food and culture business, Good and Golden. “I should turn this into a template. I need to choose a CRM (client relations management system).”

Had I not been part of the streamlining systems process at Stoke, I definitely would not have thought that (I’d had zero ideas of what a CRM was before then). Sometimes MailChimp will work for emails, and sometimes you need something more robust, like Nutshell, which is my preferred client relations management system.

Side Gigs & Seasons Of Sacrifice

Tuesday, April 7th for Coffee + Convo, we chatted with Juli James, the cofounder of two ed tech companies, Playable Media and Wildcards, and professor at UNT in the Mayborn School of Journalism teaching game design, digital media, and digital design + journalism. We talked about how she balances her side hustles, main gig, and life outside of/alongside work. She shared with us a few things to identify and implement for our wellbeing as we live the hustle.
