For our upcoming Lunch + Learn, we are welcoming Karl Gossot, an experienced professional bookkeeper, to Stoke to talk about bookkeeping for small businesses. For over 10 years, he has been working as a full-charge bookkeeper and accounting/financial manager for a variety of small to mid-size 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations in the Boston and Los Angeles Area, including United for a Fair Economy, and the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund.

This talk will be useful for small business owners, nonprofit staff, and other professionals who handle the financial transactions of an organization or business. Some of the topics that Gossot will cover during this Lunch + Learn include the following:

  • The importance of rigorous accounting and bookkeeping

  • The main elements of accounting

  • Managing a bookkeeping tasks schedule

  • Reporting requirements and taxes for small businesses

  • Choosing business structure, an accounting method, and the right bookkeeping software

Karl founded and currently runs The Nervous Bookkeeper as an independent contractor, providing general bookkeeping and financial management services to nonprofit and for-profit clients in the Los Angeles area and nationally.

Come and learn from his wealth of knowledge on bookkeeping for small businesses on Tuesday, October 16th from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.

This event is free for Stoke members, with a small fee for non-members. RSVP is required to reserve your spot at this Lunch + Learn.
