Inspirational & Instructional: Engaging Denton's Creatives, Techies & Entrepreneurs At FlintConf 2021

We’re inspired by the resiliency, innovation, and care that Dentonites have shown during the pandemic this past year. We aim to help entrepreneurs, small business owners, side hustlers, and creative business owners continue (or start) their journeys with knowledge, guidance, and tools offered to them during FlintConf.

Looking Ahead at FlintConf Year Three

In previous years, we’ve had speakers from creative, techie, and startup backgrounds inspire and share insight with attendees ranging from students and emerging professionals to established entrepreneurs and business owners.

This year, our approach is to combine inspirational and instructional in each session. We plan to integrate information and expertise with actionable takeaways in a playbook format as a resource for attendees to use before, during, and beyond Flint 2021.

Stoke has partnered with Playable Media, online learning and education technology company, to bring you the most impactful experience of FlintConf yet. FlintConf is Denton’s startup conference for hipsters, hackers, and hustlers, first hosted at Stoke in 2019, virtually in 2020, and in 2021, we’ll use the online event platform, Hopin.

We hope you’ll join us online on May 14th from 9 AM - 5 PM for a day full of engaging sessions and conversations!

Four Components to FlintConf 2021

  1. Live speaker sessions

  2. Tutorials & crash courses in the Expert Expo

  3. Networking Chat

  4. FC Playbook

Live speaker sessions (1) will air on the virtual stage alongside tutorials and crash courses (2) that will be offered in the Expo section of Hopin all day. Networking (3) throughout the day will run in the ongoing chat function.

Before the conference, you’ll receive the FC Playbook (4) to use as a workbook and guide prior to attending the conference, during conference day, and in the days (and months!) following.

FlintConf Topics: Marketing, Mentality, Money and Momentum

We’ve curated speakers from surveying your needs over the past few years.

Marketing and branding led the polls in what most people would find beneficial to learn, so we’ve worked to curate experts in those fields as speakers and guest experts.

We’ve added a finances and monetization section to the agenda to help you with money matters on your priority list.

If you’ve been thinking about what website building platform to use or client relations management (CRM) system will work best for you, take some time to mark what Expert Expo booths you want to visit online before the conference.

Speakers will also share their wisdom on things like team building and how to remain well while maintaining momentum and working hard on what you do.

Take Charge Of Your Projects & Entrepreneurial Endeavors

To help you make your conference experience the best it can be, we’ve developed an FC Playbook! Think of it as your personal guide to finding the sessions and expertise that will be most beneficial to your needs.

It contains preliminary activities for you to plan out your goals for the conference, exercises during live speaker sessions that will be workshop-style, and  various notes, templates, diagrams and the like for you to work out those ideas during tutorials and crash courses in the Expert Expo.

This playbook was developed by online learning experts and educators, so you can be confident and know it’s going to help you make the most of your conference day.

Thank You To Our Sponsors

We’re delighted to sing the praises of Bunch Bikes, From the Future, and the City of Denton, and Denton County for sponsoring FlintConf 2021!

Bunch Bikes was recently featured on Shark Tank - we won’t spoil the details if you don’t know yet or haven’t watched the show but we sure are proud of this Denton startup. From the Future was one of two Denton companies to receive an entrepreneurship grant from the City of Denton last fall! Last but not least, we are so thankful for the City of Denton’s Economic Development department’s support and Denton County.
