Community Efforts
At Stoke, we recognize there is more we can be doing to actively support Black entrepreneurs in our community. We want to ensure we are listening, learning, and taking action. We've created an informational survey so we can better understand Black entrepreneurs' business model, needs, roadblocks, and challenges (linked). If you are a Black business owner, entrepreneur, or creative, please take (and share!) this survey that will take about 10 minutes.
You can also find more information on ways to support the Black community in Denton — spend your dollars at their businesses, show up to events, sign petitions, spread the word - at this website (linked), created, compiled and contributed to by the community.
Programs & Events
Our mission to cultivate community & empower entrepreneurs guides the programming and events that we offer. Stoke is a small business staffed by a two-person, dedicated team, and we draw from Denton’s entrepreneurial ecosystem to bring in experts and entrepreneurs, in addition to regularly surveying Dentonites to find out what they’re looking for in terms of needs and interests.
Coffee + Convo and Lunch + Learn leaders share their expertise and experience with attendees, who range from freelancers, side hustlers, remote workers, small business owners, and startups in their early (or mature) stages, to help them achieve their goals with their own endeavors.
