About Mary Chavez

Mary Chavez is a versatile and multi-passionate professional with a passion for marketing, community outreach, and good tv. They moved to Denton, TX to attend the University of North Texas and by the time they received their Bachelor’s of Media Arts, they were here to stay. As a Creative Marketing Professional - and self-proclaimed Aspiring Everything - they’re constantly working to learn new things and hone their skills in various facets of media and communication.

Growing up as a true child of the internet, they have witnessed the dynamic evolution of social platforms and have embraced the ever-changing landscape with curiosity and adaptability. They’re always eager to share their expertise, a firm believer that marketing should be fun and to understand social media is to understand people.

As the Marketing & Communications Coordinator at Stoke, Mary is committed to fostering community and supporting entrepreneurs, while marketing to an eclectic audience of freelancers, remote workers and small business owners. Last year, they led their first workshop for the AccelerateHER incubator program - Content Creation: How to Save Time, Not Lose your Mind, and Create a Brand with Personality. They’ve played a role in planning and facilitating professional events for entrepreneurs, like FlintConf. They’ve even taken their love for community building outside of Stoke as well; having helped found the DTX Writers’ Workshop, a space for aspiring writers to come together, collaborate, and share their work.

Mary’s professional philosophy is simple: Be Curious, Take Risks. With a passion for empowering others and a relentless pursuit of knowledge, they continues to make a positive impact in the entrepreneurial and creative spheres.
