Marshall Culpepper - Owner/Mentor

Marshall is the co-founder of both Kubos, a satellite software startup in downtown Denton, and Techmill, a nonprofit organization for Denton tech builders. As the original organizer of the Denton Jelly, LittleDOCC, and Bootstrap Denton, Culpepper is an active member of the Denton Community, mentoring students and local entrepreneurs about writing software and building startups.

Heather Gregory - Executive Director

Heather Gregory is a community organizer and entrepreneur with a background in nonprofit management, small business operations, marketing, event planning, program development, and design. Heather has served as the Director of Stoke since January 2017. Prior to that she was the Director of SCRAP Denton, a Project Manager at a full-service marketing agency, and the creator and owner of a food cart in Portland, Oregon.

Heather has a BS in Architecture from the University of Texas in Austin. She lives in Gainesville with her husband and their daughter where she is pursuing her next entrepreneurial venture as a flower farmer & florist.

Kari Meyercord-Westerman - Community Coordinator

Kari Meyercord-Westerman has been the Community Coordinator at Stoke since August 2018. She has experience in event planning and coordination, community engagement, small business administration, and bookkeeping. She loves building community and gathering people around worthwhile causes and events.

Prior to working at Stoke, she was the Director of SCRAP Denton, an arts and environmental nonprofit, where she championed reuse, environmental stewardship, and helped make art and creative expression accessible to everyone. She now serves on the Board of Directors for SCRAP USA and is pursuing an MBA (sustainability concentration) at UNT.

Laci Kettavong - Community Specialist

Laci Kettavong joined Stoke as the Community Specialist in August 2018. She is a writer and educator with a background in technical writing, content strategy, web usability, marketing, and sustainability reporting and consulting.

Laci earned an MA in Professional and Technical Communication and an MA in Philosophy, concentrated in environmental ethics, from the University of North Texas. She lives in Denton and works on website content projects outside of work at Stoke and as an adjunct professor.
